HEY MR TAXMAN

Who knew tax records could be so much fun? And perusing parcel maps--what a way to spend an almost rainy day. It seems there's this 5 acre parcel, 069-020-059, which is currently assessed for land value of $1,592.00, and building value of 803,517.00.  It hasn't been reappraised since 1986 (confirmed with Placer County today).  Building value seems high-ish, but land--nothing is that cheap.  Here's some hints about this bargain basement parcel--it's at the end of Pahatsi,  has internet access, is vaguely nordic--you guessed it, it's Summit Station.  Current registered owner is Royal Gorge Partners- the same owner since 1986.

It seems Royal Gorge LLC doesn't own everything at Serene Lakes (yet).  What goes on here?

Your guess is as good as mine, and by the way, I'd love to hear your guesses.  It looks like John Slouber, and others still own Summit Lodge and its 5 acres.  As to the others, if it's Todd Foster, and Kirk Syme and/or Royal Gorge LLC, well, things might be interesting tax wise.  Or perhaps it's just owned by the pre-Foster Syme owners, and they're saving it for a rainy day.

Any suggestions? Maybe there's hope for Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort yet!
