BRUCE KRANZ RANTS
I'm sick of all these voters who raise ruckus and tarnation
About the fact I've taken maybe one or two donations
From realtors, developers, ski resorts and such
A candidate needs money, and it really wasn't much...
When it comes to voting I'm as pure as driven snow
I'll never be influenced by the piles and piles of dough
Sure, Royal Gorge gave me well on 25k
But that doesn't mean I'll never ever say them "nay."
And so what- I appointed Ollar-Burris because they didn't indict her*
But for your property rights, you see, I really am a fighter
If you've set your sights on big development I really am your guy
But don't misunderstand me and think my vote's for you to buy.
Those Municipal Advisory Councils, and Community Plans
They're for little people-avoid them if you can
If you build it big enough the zoning's yours by pure default**
But don't think it'll happen because you've filled my bank vault.
Those pesky local residents who say they've property rights too
I'm bothered and I'm puzzled, what's a supervisor supposed to do?
Their subtle innuendos are giving me indigestion
What do they think this is- an actual run-off election?
*From the SacBee, May 24 2008:
Kranz said he was aware of the questions about Ollar-Burris but kept waiting to see if the Placer County District Attorney's Office, which was investigating her, was going to prosecute. "That's why I appointed her-because the DA didn't file anything against her," he said.
**From the Sierra Sun, Jan. 26 2008:
But Kranz said because Royal Gorge takes up so much of the area, the development's plans will have to answer many of the same questions a community plan would. "The process wouldn't look a whole lot different than a community plan," Kranz said. "It almost becomes the community plan by default."
