For the lucky, Epiphany (Jan. 6) brings the Three Kings, and the example of their search for wisdom in following the Star over Bethlehem.  For us- not so good- we get three developers instead- Let's just  hope the Royal Gorge LLC developers, Kirk Syme, and Todd and Mark Foster, have a genuine and heartfelt epiphany, and realize that Donner Summit is for saving, not paving...

WE THREE DEVELOPERS ON DONNER SUMMIT

We three developers from the Bay Area are

Bearing plans we traverse afar

Field and fountain, high Sierra Mountain

There's nothing we will not scar.

Oh plans so grand, plans so bright

(plans that will produce so much blight!)

Cash registers ringing, that's why we're singing

We'll not show our plans without a fight.

These plans we have to pave every field

Details of which we will never yield

To any but county, so to protect our bounty

We fear what may be revealed.

Oh plans so grand, plans so bright

(plans that will produce so much blight!)

Cash registers ringing, that's why we're singing

We'll not show our plans without a fight.

Damming meadows, that is our game

Drying up streams, is also our aim

We'll take the water because we want it

For this we feel no shame.

Oh plans so grand, plans so bright

(plans that will produce so much blight!)

Cash registers ringing, that's why we're singing

We'll not show our plans without a fight.

One thousand condos we'll plant on this hill

We don't care what species we kill

Money, money, lots of money

That's what gives us our thrill.

Oh plans so grand, plans so bright

(plans that will produce so much blight!)

Cash registers ringing, that's why we're singing

We'll not show our plans without a fight.

What locals think we couldn't care

Saving the Summit is not their affair

All our concerns revolve around profits

Donner Summit  we won't share.

Oh plans so grand, plans so bright

(plans that will produce so much blight!)

Cash registers ringing, that's why we're singing

We'll not show our plans without a fight.
